Deputy Director of UCCA , China
You Yang has a decade-long professional experience in museum management, writing, curating, event planning, public relations, marketing and fundraising. Since joining UCCA in 2011, his main responsibilities include developing the Center’s public relations and branding strategies, crafting the Center’s public image, and overseeing communication with domestic and overseas media as well as with the general public.
From 2011 to 2016, You first served as UCCA’s chief press secretary and head of the Development Department from 2012 to 2013. He then went on to supervise center-wide fundraising programs and lead the Public Programs Department from 2014 to 2015, presenting over 400 events per year in the varied forms of talk, screening, live performance, and workshop. You has also served as Supervisor of the Center’s Visitors Experience Department and Members Department. You was responsible for the annual UCCA Gala from 2012 to 2015, the Center’s key funding event, and has curated a wide range of special projects, including the Juqi art exhibition (2012, Lijiang); the Audi Art & Design Award (2012); the Agora Festival (2014); “M Home: Living in Space” (2014, UCCA); and “New Order: Altermondialisme” (2016, Sanya).
Complementing his wide range of marketing and management experience, You Yang is also a published author and art critic with more than one hundred journal articles and catalogue essays to his credit. You Yang is also a senior lecturer at CIAB (Peking University) and China National Arts Fund Lesson (the Communication University of China) since 2014.
